How to destroy a nation - Part Two

Part One was posted some time ago and a variety of things came up which derailed my thinking. Since the weather is a bit nasty outside today let me take this opportunity to get back on this important subject. We'll begin with a piece of critical information our current president came into contact with while at Columbia University. Bear in mind he was already a student of Saul Alinski and his "Rules for Radicals" book. Bear in mind that his supposed father and his mother were both communist sympathizers. That being said let's consider the following: 

"Cloward and Piven taught that America could be destroyed only from within. Only by overwhelming the system with debt, welfare and entitlements could capitalism and the American economy be destroyed. So the plan was to make a majority of Americans dependent on welfare, food stamps, disability, unemployment and entitlements of all kinds. Then, under the weight of the debt, the system would implode and the economy collapse, bankrupting business owners (i.e., conservative donors). Americans would be brought to their knees, begging for big government to save them. Voilà! You’d have a new system: a system based on fairness, equality and social justice. It’s called socialism."

The obvious question at this point would be: "Is or isn't the sitting president following the Cloward and Piven plan?"  The evidence seems to indicate that he is following it to the letter! Consider the following:

" Federal welfare spending has grown by 32 percent over the past four years, fattened by President Obama’s stimulus spending and swelled by a growing number of Americans whose recession-depleted incomes now qualify them for public assistance, according to numbers released Thursday. Federal spending on more than 80 low-income assistance programs reached $746 billion in 2011, and state spending on those programs brought the total to $1.03 trillion, according to figures from the Congressional Research Service and the Senate Budget Committee.
That makes welfare the single biggest chunk of federal spending — topping Social Security and basic defense spending.

Now if you can read that and fail to see a connection indicating this president appears to be steering the ship of state straight at the reef of destruction..... and at full speed.... then you might be a candidate for an optometrist visit. Under Obama, 660,000 Americans dropped off the job rolls… just last month. Ninety million working-age, able-bodied Americans are no longer in the workforce. Almost 50 million Americans are on food stamps (20 percent of all eligible adults). Fourteen million are on disability. Cloward and Piven said that swelling the welfare and entitlement rolls had to be done to bring down America. Is there ANY doubt this president is not accomplishing that task?

That pair further stated that it would be necessary to "overwhelm the system with debt" to hasten the collapse of America. Obama promised to cut the national debt IN HALF by the end of his first term. Enough people bought the smoke and mirrors to get this person elected...... in spite of the fact that the democrat party failed to certify that he was even eligible to run for office! Be that as it may..... has this president kept his promise? No way in hell. Let's take a look, shall we?

"Less than two months into President Obama's second term, new numbers show the national debt increased by more than $6 trillion since he took office.It's the largest increase to date under any U.S. president. During the eight-year presidency of George W. Bush, the debt only rose by $4.9 trillion. Without fanfare, the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department quietly posted its daily debt report showing the total public debt of the U.S. government topped $16.687 trillion. (To be exact: $16,687,289,180,215.37) On January 20, 2009, the day Mr. Obama took office, the debt stood at $10.626 trillion. The latest posting reflects an increase of over $6 trillion.
The dubious fiscal milestone came on same day as Mr. Obama and congressional leaders met to discuss the $85 billion in automatic indiscriminate spending cuts that start to take effect today."

So! Let's review, shall we? "Only by overwhelming the system with debt, welfare and entitlements could capitalism and the American economy be destroyed." National debt up by over 6 TRILLION dollars since Obama was anointed. I'd have to say he rates a solid check mark for accomplishing part one of that plan. The Federal government's own internal numbers show the rocketing increase in welfare, food stamps, disability and other entitlement programs. I'd have to give the president another check mark for accomplishing that part of the plan too. 

By the way..... how many of you are aware that our government advertises the food stamp (SNAP) program in the country of Mexico? Shocked? Don't be. They are not "Illegal Aliens" to the left.... they are undocumented future democrat voters. Rational? The more people you have clamoring for "free stuff" from the federal government the faster the national collapse..... which is the end game goal. While  it seems cruel to "use" the citizens of another nation this way.... tempting them to come to America to help your party destroy the nation..... remember this simple fact: They can return to their home in Mexico when America collapses! To which country can YOU escape?

Mr. Obama can stand before the American people, lie and distort the truth all day and every day. That seems to be the ONLY thing he ever does! He can tell you he's an American and we are wrong to question his patriotism. He can tell you that he is tirelessly working to help the American people. He can tell you that all that he is doing is just trying to make it safer and more fair in America. 

Yes... he can and does say all those things. His RECORD and what he has actually accomplished tell a starkly different story though. You just have to decide which to believe. The lies.... or the truth. One will set you free.... the other will imprison you. Your choice..... choose wisely.

My goodness.... where to begin? Taxes? Got yours done yet? Dang sure better have and if not dang sure better have your extension filed. Keep in mind the Big O' has added 6500 new IRS agents to make sure that we peons haven't got two nickles to rub together. Meanwhile the people who are actually IN government are not only not paying their taxes..... but being given a pass by congress! Just don't try it at home..... there are different rules for the ruling class. 

Boston bombing. Did anyone else notice the knee jerk reaction speed with which "the far right" and "conservatives" got blamed by the media? Yep! All the radical left wing talking heads quickly blamed the sane ones in the nation without one shred of evidence. 

Riddle me this...... if WE are the crazy ones..... is it not correct to assume that a gun show ought to be THE most DANGEROUS place on the entire planet? 

Think about it..... the place is packed with evil conservatives.... "bitter clingers who cling to their religion and guns" when things get scary out. Second they are filled floor to ceiling with every gun (and we ALL know how dangerous THOSE things are) you can possibly imagine..... and enough ammo to wage a small revolution in some third world country. 

In spite of all that condensed evil concentrated in one place..... where are all the horror stories of the mass killings at gun shows? Fact is there are more deaths involving 86 year old female skateboarders each year than in all the gun shows ever held!! Could it be that the radical left wing media is lying to you about how dangerous we and our guns are??? Doesn't take a degree in Rocket Science to figure that one out.... does it?

Global warming is back in the news again in two ways. The first is the complete lack of evidence that it's even happening and the second is John Kerry (who served in Vietnam by the way) telling our good friends the Chi-Coms that America is the root cause of it and by golly we're going to bankrupt and ruin our nation to fix it! (Which saves the Chi-Coms a LOT of trouble because now they can just sit back and wait for us to implode due to Liberal stupidity and then move in and take over) 

On the first point there are some honest scientists (yes... they do exist) who have re-examined the previous data and found them seriously flawed. In putting together a more honest collection of data they could find no evidence at all of the alleged warming trend. This infuriated the head-up-ass bunch which quickly claimed that global warming WAS real..... it's just that all the heat is somehow being trapped deep in the ocean where it still has the potential to someday heat up the planet!  The same group also believes that pigs DO have the potential to fly......it's just that for now birds are the only ones with wings. (and you'll recall that not all birds are capable of flight)

In doing my own research on warming though I do have to admit that I have indeed noticed a definite upwards trend in the temperatures lately. Granted there are occasional dips when the temperatures cool somewhat.... but overall my observations do seem to indicate a warming trend. OH! Wait..... That's summer coming like it does every year...... never mind. 

I also noticed that the Big O',  while screaming that the "rich" have to pay their fair share, only paid 18% himself in taxes. Oh come on now Berry! You're worth well over 10 million dollars, son. 18% is the best you can do? Brother, please! I think it's time to start including Government perks as income for tax purposes. Free house..... staff...... big planes and crews..... all those free golf trips... gotta be worth a LOT of money!  TAX the sucker! (Nothing personal, Berry..... just trying to be fair is all. You DO believe in playing fair..... right? Spread the wealth around and all that?) 

Virgin Galactic got one step closer to actual private manned space flight last week with a "cold flow" test of the space crafts main engine. At altitude the pilot "fired" the main engine but it was only filled with half of the two part fuel mixture.... so no ignition took place. It did, however, confirm that all the necessary components functioned as designed while in flight. Full power tests coming soon. Once certified the first paying customers get to rocket to space aboard a private space craft. 2001.... A Space Odyssey..... here we come! 

In other news the State Controlled Media failed to properly mention.... the Big O' is busy selling F-16's to the Muslim Brotherhood! He calls it Egypt but since Egypt is controlled by the terrorists it's all the same thing. I've been racking my brain and for the life of me I just can't think of a single thing that a bunch of Muslim terrorists...... located right next door to the Jewish State of Israel...... could possibly do that would be wrong with a bunch of F-16's....... can you? Yeah... I thought not.

Meanwhile.... back on gun control....that stellar figure of towering intellect..... Shelia Jackson Lee...... made the statement that we are NOT to blame the gangbangers...... when it's the guns that are the cause of the violence. NO! Really.... she said that! Then again this is the same woman..... chair of the Science Committee.... who asked if the Mars rovers were scheduled to make a trip to where the astronauts planted the flag. Yes people of California..... this woman represents YOU! Makes you proud I'm sure. I don't think we even have to ask if she's smarter than a 5th grader..... do we? 

And as a parting thought..... the BIG O' gets elected (somehow) and since then the suicide rate in America has gone through the roof! More soldiers are killing themselves than are being killed by the enemy in war!! Anyone else care to wager that the State Controlled Media will absolutely never try for linkage between those two items while someone with a "D" after their name occupies the White House?  And speaking of the occupant..... a person who works (or did before spilling the beans) at the vital records department in Hawaii said that it's common knowledge there that NO RECORD exists which shows B.H.O. ever being born in that state. Of course you saw the media covering that one wall to wall.... right? Yeah.... me neither. 

Unarmed = Defenseless

   It seems to be time for yet another journey into the land of rational thought. Some will enjoy this and others might wish the height and weight requirement had excluded them. In any event.... strap on your safety gear and buckle up because it's going to be a bumpy ride today, gang!

   Let's begin our foray into the land of the rational by taking a look at a statement by the former head of the Department of Justice..... Janet Reno.  Universal background checks are the camel’s nose under the tent. As former Attorney General Janet Reno said in 1993 during discussions of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban (AWB): “Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal.” Remember that the elites are content with incremental steps that I call gradualism.

   Of course those of us with our eyes and minds wide open have known what the master plan was all along. And you're thinking..... "Okay smart guy....how the hell did you know that and what makes you same damn sure of yourself?" Fair question with an amazingly simple answer. All you have to do is READ the Founding Documents and you'll quickly discover that the Founders had all the answers before there were even questions. 

   If one simply looks back over history there were times when America thrived and prospered. This one tiny nation..... little more than an infant on the world stage..... was blowing the lid off in the areas of industrial and technological development.... agriculture....   science..... and every other measurable point.  That was all because of our Constitution and our basic human freedoms. Then some in power thought that THEY knew better than the Founders and began to ignore the Constitution, Bill of Rights.... and everything else the Founders instructed us that we needed in order to be a free and prosperous people. 

   If one simply tracks the rise of liberalism and the decline of everything that had previously defined America and made her great...... those two paths form an X on your chart. As liberalism infects our society it kills off or weakens everything which is necessary for America to be the beacon of freedom and hope it was destined to be. But I digress.....

   The reason we even have a 2nd Amendment is because America had just won its independence from England and the tyranny of an over-reaching all powerful government. Necessary for that was an armed populace prepared and willing to fight for and defend freedom against that tyranny. Now just over 200 years later we find that tyranny is back in the form of a bloated and out of control government which seeks to dictate to us every aspect of how to live our lives. The takeover of the healthcare system was just another in the long march of liberalism to snuff out all personal choice and freedom and institute the all powerful Nanny State. 

   That leads us to the title of this blog..... Unarmed = Defenseless.  Here is your basic definition as a memory jogger:

2. unprotected people: people who are unable to defend themselves and their interests

Synonyms: unprotected, unarmed, exposed, unguarded, vulnerable, helpless, wide open, weak, frail, powerless

Now then.... if YOU are a part of a small ruling class and have designs on changing everything about the way your country is run.... no matter what the people want..... which would you rather try to force that upon? A nation armed and instructed by our Founders that we have the RIGHT to throw off any government which no longer is serving us....... or a collection of unarmed, unprotected, exposed, unguarded, vulnerable, helpless, weak, frail and powerless people? While might doesn't make right.... it does make sure that you won't be ignored. 

   Okay... hopefully you're still following along. Next I'll ask the liberal readers to put on their crash helmets because we're going to be throwing some logic around and we don't want them getting brain damage.

   What passes for "logic" in the logic free zone of Washington D.C. is nothing more than radical left wing pissing, moaning and hand wringing. They do it every single time they want to accomplish something and can't Constitutionally justify it. How the left even arrives at its positions is something of a mystery too...... kinda like dark matter. As close as I can come is to call it "non-intellectually guided emotionalism." You can call it a knee-jerk reaction if you like. Logical, rational thought NEVER enters into a position the radical leftists take..... it's 100% emotion driven pablum for the uneducated masses. (And please remember that it is the LEFT which controls the education system too!)  

   So....someone gets shot by a bad guy...... have to ban guns. Someone gets offended because he sees a cross...... have to ban crosses. Someone else gets outraged because they found a plaque with the 10 Commandments on it......have to ban the 10 Commandments. The same with God, innocent words taken out of context, certain toys, moral values, freedom of choice, association, speech, religion and every other natural right conferred upon us by our Creator and affirmed by the Founders. The radical lefts answer to everything THEY don't like or agree with is to ban it or regulate it out of existence. And if WE don't happen to agree with them..... then WE are stupid, unenlightened, knuckle dragging dolts who deserve nothing less than to have laws rammed down our throats for questioning their brilliance. How DARE we have an opinion different from theirs! Who the hell do we think we are? 

   WE are the People! We are the TRUE seat of power in this nation and it's clearly LONG past time that those WE sent to Washington to SERVE US heard that message LOUD AND CLEAR!! Those we sent to serve us have taken liberties with the power WE granted them and completely bastardized the system the Founders created. (which the Founders warned us could happen if we failed to remain vigilant) Ask anyone in the House or the Senate why they are there and 99% will tell you that it's to write laws, regulations and govern. Only 1% will reply correctly that they are there to represent the people who elected them and to serve those people as their representative in the House or Senate. 

   As we all know there is a HUGE gun control debate going on right now.... when the Founders ended that very debate centuries ago with the words: "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."  It is neither the job, right, responsibility, obligation or duty of ANYONE in Washington D.C. to attempt to infringe upon our God given RIGHT to the ability to defend ourselves in a manner consistent with the 2nd Amendment.

    Gun control has one.... and ONLY one definition which is applicable under that amendment...... consistently hitting your legally recognized intended target. Be that target practice at a range or other safe location.....be that while out hunting...... be that while protecting the life of yourself, loved ones or property from someone attempting to unlawfully deprive you of it...... or be that in defending the Constitution and America from the designs of tyrants and their ilk.  That last point is the REAL reason for the radical leftists  push to ban guns.

Reaffirming Texas’ sovereignty under the Texas Constitution and the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

This Non-Binding Resolution was introduced on March 7th, 2013 by Representative James White who represents Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Polk, and Tyler counties.

WHEREAS, The Republic of Texas existed as an independent nation for nine years, and when it accepted admission to the Union in 1845, it remained a free and independent state subject only to the United States Constitution; and

WHEREAS, The United States Congress has passed laws requiring Texas to make expenditures that are unfunded by the federal government, which is a violation of the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution; moreover, the federal government has caused the intentional devaluation of its currency through its reckless spending and borrowing, and this threatens the economic stability of Texas; and

WHEREAS, The United States government has allowed the use of its authority, credit, and goodwill for the benefit of private and foreign concerns in violation of its own constitution; in addition, its repeated failure to guard the border between Texas and Mexico has forced the state to spend vast sums in order to protect its citizens; and

WHEREAS, The federal government has further implemented thousands of laws, mandates, and agencies in violation of the United States Constitution and of the sovereignty of the State of Texas; and

WHEREAS, Section 1, Article I, Texas Constitution, states that “the perpetuity of the Union depend[s] upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States”; Section 2, Article I, declares, “All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient”; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas hereby reaffirm the state’s sovereignty under the Texas Constitution and the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the Texas secretary of state forward official copies of this resolution to the president of the United States, to the president of the Senate and the speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, and to all the members of the Texas delegation to Congress with the request that this resolution be officially entered in the Congressional Record as a memorial to the Congress of the United States of America.

 

Many people think that Texas retained the right to secede from the Union when it became a state. That is nowhere in the constitution of the State of Texas. We did, however, retain the right to divide into a total of 5 states. I think doing that would undermine all of the unique qualities of being "Texan" and having a land of such vast diversity to call home.

None the less the Founders of the United States did warn us of the peril of those not worthy rising to power. They installed the system of checks and balances so as to keep our unique form of government exactly in the center between anarchy (no government at all) on the right and tyranny (nothing but government) on the left.

Because we have fallen away from the guiding principles the Founders blessed us with and because those we have elected to positions of governance refuse to abide by the Constitution, when steering the ship of state, we have drifted far off the course defined for us at our founding.

In their Divinely inspired wisdom the Founders knew such evil people might steal their way into power and begin charting a course back to the singular rule of a "king" or "monarch" or plain, old fashioned, dictator from which we escaped through revolution.

We were given the 2nd amendment so that "We, The People" would always have the means by which to resist such tyrannical designs. We were further commanded to be on the watch for such tyrannical people and forms of government and told that we had not only the right but also the obligation to throw off such a government and form another which better suited our needs and desires.

The CLEAR intent of the founders was for a federal government of very specific and very limited powers. They went even further and enumerated those powers granted to the Federal government and plainly stated that ALL power not specifically given to the Federal government is retained by the states and the people.

Yet today we have reached a point in time when Federal judges tell us we have no right to consume the food we grow or raise on our own lands. We have a Federal government which ORDERS us, under penalty of fine, to buy specific things. (health insurance) We have S.W.A.T. teams arresting people for drinking whole milk from cows they raised. Being a politician has become a life time career and not the temporary service it was intended to be.

Those writing the laws now routinely include wording which exempts them from it. You know that you can go to prison for "insider trading" but did you also know that members of congress are NOT subject to that law and are free to act on information they hear? Yep! If we did it we go to prison but when they do it they go to the bank. Why do you think they are willing to spend tens of millions of dollars to get a job that pays less than $200,000????

We have federal agencies filled with appointed bureaucrats churning out thousands of pages of regulations designed to control us. Those regulations carry the force of LAW yet were NOT passed by those we elected to create law. You can live on top of a mountain in Wyoming and if someone from the E.P.A. comes to your property and declares it to be a "wetland" then it's a wetland and you can then be ordered to leave so you don't damage it. You can be ordered to let some complete stranger grope you, your wife and your children.... and if you refuse or resist you can be arrested and jailed. We are told to sacrifice for the good of all yet the man telling us that refuses to either do his job or stop taking $4 million dollar vacations..... or throwing million dollar parties every Wednesday night.

Mr. White is absolutely correct when we cites the 10th amendment which is being completely ignored by those in power in Washington D.C. In the last two years Texas lost to wild fires an area equal to 5 entire northeastern states..... yet we received not one single penny in aid from our Federal government. Why? Because we're Texans and that's where the Bush's came from! The reason is both petty and childish..... but then again..... look who's in charge.   The 10th amendment

Each year Texas is ordered to send vast sums of money to Washington D.C. in the form of various taxes. IF we are good boys and girls.... and IF we are lucky.... we *might* get some of that money back to help OUR state and OUR people.  It's about time we in Texas told Washington D.C. and their corrupted and broken government to "Attempt aeronautical intercourse with a rotating piece of perforated pastry."  (There may be young readers so you'll just have to figure that one out)  How about, to send a loud and clear message, Texans KEEP all that tax money in TEXAS and we de-fund the fraud, waste and corruption in Washington?

Of all the states in the United States only Texas has the true ability to stand on it's own as a free and independent Republic. We export everything from our electricity to our fuels to our tax money! What would happen if we KEPT it for our own benefit? Pull the plug and let California figure out where to get their electricity. We in Texas could then have to lowest electrical power rates in the nation. Our tax dollars stay here to improve OUR roads and replace OUR old bridges..... rather than vanish in the black hole that is Washington D.C..... never to be seen again.

Consider these facts. If Texas were to become independent again we would, on our first day, be ranked around 11th or 12th in the world for economies with a GDP of $1.207 Trillion dollars. Texas has 1/4 of America's oil and natural gas reserves. Texas has the nations largest refinery. Texas also has abundant coal reserves. Texas also generates more alternative energy than any other state with over 780 megawatts in wind power being generated just at the Roscoe Wind Farm. Texas is the southern part of the great plains and as such grows plenty of grain and fiber crops. Texas has a vast ocean coast line and a thriving fishing industry. We still have a huge cattle industry too. Let's face it... the rest of the country needs us more than we need them.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas

Finally.....as you can see from the above.... Texas is big enough that when WE speak..... Washington HAS to listen! They might not like what they hear but too damn bad. Dusting off the Artillery

Morning, Gang! Permit me to begin by explaining the possibly cryptic post title. Due to a number of factors I have been silent on this side of the blogs I used to post to regularly. Those on the inside know that my dear Becky passed away and since that event I have been attempting a complete remake of my entire life. Thus.... I have been rather busy. However things are beginning to settle down now and I will again have the time to voice my opinion on things political on a more frequent basis.

 I am more than eager to dive back into the battle of ideas which is necessary to shape our great nation and keep it free. Liberals..... be afraid..... be very afraid.  Why? Because the left doesn't know how to back up their positions with solid facts and well crafted logic. They huff and puff and make a lot of noise.... point fingers and place blame..... and if all that fails they quickly retrograde to childish name calling.  Watch them on TV when they have to face a conservative and defend their positions. Their actions are as predictable as noting the glow on the eastern horizon and knowing the sun will soon rise. Well... one more conservative with facts and well crafted logic is back in the political battle and I'm happily dusting off the artillery in preparation for battle. Bring it on libs!

The biggest thing on the radar screen today is all the noise about the sequester. If you pay attention to the left (which Sun Tsu instructed with "Know thy Enemy") you understand that one of their favorite tricks is to assign brand new.... sometimes made up... names to old familiar things. "Sequester" is nothing more than a scary sounding new name for budget cuts which affect selected government agencies. 

With the help of the second branch of the democrat party...... the main stream.... state controlled media.....  the "Sequester" (which is the idea of BHO and no one else) is being portrayed as perhaps the  most destructive thing to ever have happened to America. Okay.... let's look behind the curtain and see what's really happening.

1st of all you need to learn about how Washington D.C. operates. You and I have a *real* budget to operate under. We have bills to pay and a fixed amount of income coming in and have to make things balance if we are fiscally responsible. We don't automatically assume that our income will increase by some fixed amount each and every year and project our spending as if it did. 

Washington D.C., on the other hand, operates outside reality when it comes to budgeting. THEY use something called "baseline budgeting" and that's not what you might think it is. From the name alone you might think they work just like you and I have to..... and their "baseline" is the tax revenue coming into Washington. You'd be wrong. 

Baseline Budgeting automatically assumes that the money allotted to all government agencies will increase by a fixed amount each and every year no matter what is happening out in the real world and how well or how poorly our economy is doing. Presently the Baseline increase is between 7 and 10% annually. Don't you wish YOU could count on a 7 to 10% increase in your income each year?

Okay..... so now that you understand (I hope) how Washington works..... let's examine the "Sequester" and see what is *really* happening with those "Draconian" budget cuts.  The "evil" sequester is going to take a massive 2.8% out of those affected budgets. [GASP! Oh the HORROR!] But WAIT!..... Under Baseline budgeting their budgets automatically INCREASE by somewhere between 7 and 10% each year...... so even taking the lower number....7%..... and subtracting the sequester amount (2.8%) they still have a net budget INCREASE of  4.2%  

Now struggle as I might I'm just having a really tough time trying to figure out how the hell a 4.2% (MINIMUM) budget INCREASE is going to result in all the harm and damage to the economy the left is screaming about. If you can make that understandable to me I welcome the enlightenment. Like you I'd more than welcome a 4.2% increase in my income this year.

Gun control is also getting a lot of attention these days. As usual the left is using misdirection, straw dogs and just plain lies to try to take away our 2nd amendment rights. Okay.... I get that it's a really bad thing when some guy walks into a school and kills a bunch of kids..... I GET that. 

For the sake of the debate let's assume, for a moment, that guns had never been invented. No gun powder no pistols, rifles, shotguns or any other type of gun...... they simply DO NOT exist. Now you drive past the local youth indoctrination center....... Opps.... I mean school..... and you see the sign declaring it to be a baseball bat free zone and a drug free zone. So some guy twists off and goes walking right past the sign with a bat.... goes through the unguarded front door.... walks into a classroom and beats 22 kids to death. That very night congress is screaming for Baseball Bat control legislation in order to prevent such a crime from happening again.

Then let's assume guns & baseball bats had never been invented. You drive by the same education center and the sigh says "Hammer Free Zone & Drug free zone"  Some nut job walks right past the sign with a regular hammer and a back-up roofing hammer..... goes into a classroom and beats 22 kids to death with them. That night it's all over the news and congress is screaming for "Hammer control legislation"  to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. 

Okay! So what can we learn from these two examples?  (BTW.... if you try this on a Liberal they will tell you that you're being silly. Remember they don't understand logic.) In each case there are several things that stand out to anyone with a functioning brain. #1 is that in each case it was advertised that none of the weapons used to commit the crime could be on the property. They were outlawed!  (The Gun, Baseball Bat and Hammer free zone signs)  #2 In each case the perpetrator ignored the sign and walked right on in..... unchallenged....  the school to commit the crime. #3 In each case there was NO ONE at the school capable of preventing that person from entering or stopping him once he was inside. #4 It is CLEARLY the intent of the person which is the primary problem and NOT any specific type of weapon. A person INTENT upon committing a crime will figure out a way to commit it using whatever means they feel necessary. And finally.... #5..... The definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law.  (and ignoring the law is breaking the law too)

So liberals do a "feel good" thing and "protect" our children by defining "Gun Free Zones". They see that sign and think to themselves..... "Our children and now safe from gun violence because we have put up this sign and made having a gun here a crime." Big freaking deal. All the damn sign does is create a bother for law abiding citizens. Do you *really* think criminals and those intent on committing a crime at a school are going to drive up.... see the sigh and say to themselves.... "Oh crap! I was going to go inside and shoot a lot of kids today..... but there is this sign that says "Gun Free Zone"...... so I guess I'll go back home and watch Oprah." and leave? Hell no. What is says to a criminal is "Good! I will encounter NO resistance here!" And they are right..... history proves it. 

Ask yourself...... when was the last time you watched on TV or read in a news headline about some person with a gun going into a police station or Highway Patrol office with the intent of shooting a lot of people? NEVER! Why? Because there are people in those places trained in the use of firearms and carrying them! The criminal *might* get off one shot (and statistically 5 to 7 rounds are fired for every strike on a human target in a shootout) Then everyone with a weapon and clear line of fire in the place is going to unload on his ignorant ass. Criminals and those intent upon committing a crime KNOW that..... which is exactly why they look for "gun free zones" when they want to kill a lot of people in relative safety.  Every "NO GUNS" sign just means that those who ignore the sign to commit a crime have nothing to fear. 

Would you like to know what prevents people from becoming criminal in the first place? (Provided, of course, that they are mentally sound and capable of rational thought) It's fear. What made YOU behave when YOU were young? The fear of your mother or father tearing into your ass, that's what! The Bible tells us that if we spare the rod we spoil the child......so what do liberals do? The opposite of what the Bible says. They have "time out" and other stupid little things that teach the lesson that there are NO real consequences for my actions... no matter how bad they are. Time out? Who cares? That doesn't hurt me one little bit! See? Even the kids get it when the adults don't. "That doesn't HURT me one little bit. Meaning that they don't fear the punishment. Fear is a powerful motivator when used properly.  So is pain.

Take your typical liberal indoctrination center..... Oops.... slipped again..... SCHOOL...... and put up a sigh that says "ALL adults on these grounds are armed and trained" and watch what happens.  The bad guys drive right on down the street to the "gun free zone" to raise hell. After all... why go to the first school knowing that every adult in there has a gun and is trained in how to use it properly? It's just plain common sense. And there is a bumper sticker which sums it all up rather well:

Lastly on this phony "gun control" thing..... the left knows that unless they pull some really underhanded stuff like they did to pass Obamacare..... they won't be able to ban guns as they would like to do. Knowing that the government has been buying up all the ammunition the market has. I've been on some web sites where some ammo won't be in stock until 2016! NOT COUNTING the 5 branches of the military and their ammunition needs...... our government has bought over 1.6 billion (that's BILLION with a B) rounds of ammunition since Obama took office..... and they have procurement requests out for another 1.2 BILLION rounds! How much is that really? What is on hand now is enough to fight the Iraq war for 25 years based on the rounds consumed there during the conflict. 

So ask yourself this...... why the hell does our government need that much ammo? They claim that it's for "training" reasons. Really? Ask yourself...... why does the Department of Education have an armed and trained S.W.A.T. team? Why does the F.D.A. have an armed and trained S.W.A.T. team? What does the Social Security Administration need with nearly a Million rounds of .357 Magnum hollow point ammunition? Have our seniors gotten *that* rowdy and violent lately? (BTW Hollow point ammo isn't used in "training" because it's too expensive)  There is some ammo on the shelves but it's odd calibers like 44-40 or .273. Normal old .22 rounds are hard to find as are .38 / .357  / .40  / .45 both revolver and ACP  / 9mm  and most other standard calibers. While they know they can't get all our guns.... they CAN and ARE buying up ALL the ammunition. A pistol without bullets is either a hammer or a rock..... and a rifle or shotgun without ammo is a club. And if our government has all the ammo and we have none......do they FEAR us? Not only no but  HELL NO! 

The Founders KNEW all those years ago what might happen if the wrong people rose to power. In their Divinely inspired wisdom they properly gave us the 2nd amendment so that we "The People" could defend ourselves from an out of control government.  Point blank.... Gun control isn't about guns...... it's about CONTROL.

Tme for an update

   Been too busy and usually a bit too frustrated to take time to write for quite a while..... so it's time for an update. The vast majority of the frustration comes from Washington D.C. (where else?) and that bunch of out of touch twits on both sides of the political isle. It's the same old thing where the left is doing everything in it's power to turn America into a European Socialist Autocracy..... and the right can't ever seem to muster the balls to fight them on a single point of their agenda. 

   Also I'm constantly frustrated by the continued domination of the left wing media. Their slavish dedication to propping up Obama and the left wing radical agenda is flat out disgusting. They have no credibility at all as serious journalists anymore yet they continue to have the power to shape both the news of the day while also trying to shape what we should think about it. Their inability to conform to honest journalistic standards is criminal. Many moons ago when I took journalism the instructors standard was quite simple. If he could read your work and tell what your opinion of the topic was...... you failed.  The ONLY place for opinion was on the Editorial page and the Op-Ed page.  Today opinion is all we get from the left. The news only exists as a springboard into ramming their opinions down our throats. 

   Permit me to illustrate the above point. Recently the CEO of Chick-Filet stated that he supported traditional marriage. Oh the HORROR!!!! Liberals immediately went insane and began demonizing both he and his business for his "intolerant" views. (While simultaneously overlooking their OWN blatant intolerance) The mayor of Chicago pronounced:  "Their values are not the values of Chicago!" while the mayor of Boston said he would like to ban the food chain from doing business in his city. Both of those people got several days of coverage. 

   Meanwhile..... those of us who live in the *real* America sent a message loud and clear to all of those on the left. Chick-Filet restaurants everywhere have been overwhelmed with customers as a result of those statements. My wife and I attempted to dine at one for two days in a row to show our support but were unable to find one we could even get close to! Standing room only in the dining area and cars lined up for blocks in some cases! This is what is known as "backlash" and it got...... ZERO coverage by the same media who hyped the story in the first place. For the left wing media the only side of the story is their side. The only opinion that matters is their opinion. As Saul Alinsky wrote in his book..... Rules for Radicals "The ends always justify the means."

   Okay... moving on to the campaign for President now. The presumed Republican nominee needs to spend a weekend watching re-runs of Ronald Reagan and figure out how to take the fight to the opponent.  His conciliatory style is going to result in him getting his ass handed to him come November. Line it out, man! Clearly state what is wrong with the way the left is running (ruining) the country....... what his plans and visions are to set things right..... and how do we, as citizens, benefit from those plans and visions. 

   And come out of the starting blocks with a full broadside on Obama. In a coast to coast televised broadcast state boldly that you will gladly make your entire past from birth to present day accessible to the American people..... so they KNOW for whom they are voting...... then state the fact that Obama has spent over 3 million dollars keeping HIS background under lock and key. Then just ask the obvious question...... Doesn't it make you wonder exactly what he has to hide? 

   Next on the plate should be his plans to streamline and reform government. Point blank there is far too much duplication of effort and far too many overlapping agencies in Washington. Find all those instances of duplication and overlap and eliminate them. That begins to attack the problem. 

   Next it's time to get closer to the letter of the Constitution and eliminate some entire agencies. Start off with the Department of Education. Just flat shut it down and put control back into the hands of the State and local governments. The FDA..... far too big with entirely too much power..... and way too deep into the pockets of special interest groups. Seriously.... do we *really* need FDA swat teams attesting people for drinking whole milk from their own cows? Please!  Department of agriculture...... no longer serves any reasonable purpose. Department of Homeland Security...... transformed from a warm fuzzy security blanked after 9-11 into a plastic bag held over the face of the people. TSA..... gone the same day as the inauguration. Department of Health and Human Services.... Ditto.   

    Well...... here you go.  Directory of Federal Agencies   Click on that and prepare to have your mind boggled. Or..... if you really wish to be amazed...... here is "The HUGE list of Government."  Scroll through the first page as it is all notes and start with all the departments, offices and agencies for the Executive Branch and keep heading down until you get to the link which shows you the government pay scale. I'd clear my schedule for the day though if I were going to try to read the entire listing. Not a person alive can convince me that we actually NEED all of that bureaucracy!!

   Now that we're cutting the size of government let's work on cleaning it up too. First agenda item is a Balanced Budget Amendment. Make it crystal clear that you'll sign no bills into law until that one is passed. Next...... term limits. We need to get the entrenched establishment types on BOTH sides out of Washington.  Three, four year terms, max. Retirement? Nope! Representatives can contribute to retirement plans just like the rest of us. Next...... complete elimination of Congressional Exemption to the laws it passed. They are citizens of the same country we are and should be subject to ALL the same laws we are. 

   Is there more that needs to be done? Of course there is! The left has been systematically re-engineering America away from the Founders vision and the Constitution since Woodrow Wilson.... so we have over 100 years of liberalism to eliminate. But such change cannot come from Washington alone. Remember the words..... We, The People...... and take your direction from those words. It is WE who are in control of government and not the other way around! They have forgotten that fact and this November we need to serve them notice that we have not!!

How to destroy a nation - Part One

Greetings boys and girls! In the next few posts I'm going to take a look a the late great United States of America. The purpose is to illustrate how liberalism and it's partners Socialism and Communism have gradually pushed the nation to the brink of destruction.

The evidence of this destruction are everywhere. Look at how people behave in stores and restaurants. Look at how the nation is covered in litter. Look at what passes for entertainment on the television these days. Look at the books that get rave reviews versus those the "mainstream" media won't even make an effort to review. Look at the condition of our schools and the competency level of those who "graduate" at both the secondary and college level. Look at the business environment and the massive unemployment level. Look at the housing market.

The only two ways you cannot see the damage being done by liberalism is to either be completely deaf and blind...... or to be a liberal.

The thing that gives liberalism it's massive power to change things is time and patience. With the exception of Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt no other Presidents in the history of the nation have moved us so far left so fast.

Obama has the singular distinction of driving the nation further into debt than all the other Presidents combined. Yet, even with the trillions he's already spent, he is now threatening seniors and the military with no pay if he is not permitted to push the nation even further into debt!

Liberalism is like any addictive drug. Once under its spell a person undergoes a transformation that is mainly mental. In fact liberalism has been called a mental disorder by more than one member of the psychological field.

Liberalism seems to always be associated with a heightened sense of self worth and a desire to control people who do things which they don't like or approve of. There is a superiority complex. Liberals always consider themselves above the "common" man and thus always think that they know what is best for everyone.

Liberals are also always telling us about "fairness" and "tolerance" too. For them it's all about equality of outcome. Never mind that two different people have two different work ethics and two different sets of leadership skills. No... those things don't matter. Everyone should achieve the same outcome if they are doing the same thing.

Where has this ignorant idea taken us? How about the kids sports teams and the "adults" saying that it's not "fair" to keep score because then some kids have their feelings hurt? How about the quota system for college placement and even placement in medical schools? Some kids are better at sports then others.... it's a FACT! Some kids understand the team player concept better than others. Thus some teams are better than others.

For a liberal that's just plain unfair. So what if some kids can't play well. So what if some grandstanding kid hogs the ball and causes his team to loose. Loosing is a negative emotion and, since liberals are highly emotional creatures, negative things must be avoided at all costs.

To that end the "adults" decided that keeping score was bad so the kids play and everyone wins! Isn't that just wonderful? That's not how the REAL world works is it? What then are we teaching the kids by not keeping score? Do you honestly believe the kids are NOT keeping score in their heads? If you do then you're probably in need of some therapy.

This brings me to another consistent thing about liberals. They all seem to be delusional to one degree or another. Since reality seldom comports to their odd way of seeing the world they tend to ignore reality and replace it with a mental construct of the perfect world and live there instead.

It's like that guy on Myth Busters said during the introduction to the show.... "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" Of course he was joking. For liberals, however, that is a way of life.

Take the current debt ceiling battle. The adults in the game want to put a cap on the debt ceiling and leave it right where it is. They want to cut spending and they want a balanced budget amendment passed. The left screams "FOUL" and rejects the plan. Harry Reid, Senate Majority leader called the bill "The most irresponsible piece of legislation he had ever seen." and had the bill tabled rather than leave it open for debate. (This from a man who approved of Obama Care without even reading that bill)

SO! What are we to make of this? Well.... it seem that in Mr. Reid's household..... if you are maxed out on all your credit cards simply tell the bank to increase your credit limit so you can go out and buy more stuff! If they ask him how he is going to pay the bill his response would be something along the lines of "I plan to buy one less double mocha latte at Starbucks this year." I know MY bank would be fine with that plan..... just like yours.... right? The bad news? We're the bank, boys and girls. Remember... they are spending OUR money.

As far as tolerance goes it is like so many other things Liberal. That means it's a case of do as I say and not as I do. For example..... to disagree with President Obama in any way and on anything is to be a racist. If, however, you're a member of the media and you referred to the previous President as "Hitler" or described him as "stupid" or "un-curious" then you were simply being an "enlightened" member of the press whose thinking was far above that of the common man.

To those on the left being "tolerant" means that you always agree with them. Their ideas and plans are superior and you should be intelligent enough to see that and accept it. If you point out the errors of their ideas and plans then you are NOT being tolerant! In fact some would say that you are practicing "Hate speech!" (Hate Speech is anything that the left doesn't approve of)

The odd thing is that there is no reverse side of that coin. Only the "right" or "Conservatives" can be guilty of "Hate Speech." Anything said by the left is okay and we are chided to be "tolerant" and understanding..... to open our minds to their brilliance. (Remember... no one can be smarter than a liberal)

The war on America that is being waged here is mostly an information war. The left controls more than 90% of the news that reaches the average citizen. We are constantly bombarded with leftist thoughts and ideas in the news. Stories are cherry picked to show liberalism as this super noble ideal that we should all aspire to and conservatism as an evil that will destroy everything it touches.

Television programming is constantly dumbed down so as to reach the uneducated or under-educated. (ie graduated of liberal colleges) Sit-coms depict conservatives as bumbling fools who constantly do stupid things which liberals, in their infinite wisdom, have to fix.

Even the cartoon shows our children watch have a left wing slant built it so as to begin the indoctrination as early as possible. "Captain Planet" and his rangers battling evil "big business" who wants nothing more than to pollute the planet for their own greed and profit. The brainwashing is subtle and it starts very early.

The objective is clear. Get the liberal message out early and often. Convert entire generations of citizens to the liberal way of "thinking" and, sooner or later, all those who remember conservatism and liberty and freedom will die off leaving the nation in their control.

Fortunately for our side once the light of truth shines on liberalism it crumbles under the weight of the lies it is built upon. The truth of the Founding Fathers vision for America is still like a beacon in the darkness the liberals try to cover the world with. As the old saying goes though... there is not enough darkness to extinguish the light of a single candle. Your job from this moment forward is simple. Be a candle.

It's either a C.F. or a C.J.

Hey gang! Been busy trying to keep Honey patched together long enough to beat this second round of cancer. Since Honey comes first..... this and everything else goes on hold. The good news is that we beat the breast cancer in her breast. The bad news is that while we were doing that some of it managed to spread to three bones in her spine and the ball of her left hip and the socket of her right hip. She had her first radiation therapy today and we're hoping that it will help mitigate the non-stop pain she has been suffering for some time now.

So many things going south that it's hell just figuring out where to start today. The one thing I have come to realize, however, is that if we want lower unemployment, an end to the deficit problem, better standing in the world community and a return to the stature America has had for over a century then we simply need to listen carefully to Obama and his administration and execute a strategy which is exactly 180 degrees from that. *Everything* this imposter has done since taking office has failed to do a damn thing to result in a nation better than the one he inherited.

Bin Laden has reached room temperature and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual! Many congratulations and much gratitude to the members of ST6 for another mission accomplished with the impressive precision only a well trained and dedicated force can achieve.

By their very nature SEAL teams live a rather secretive existence. Each member is a world class athlete who works on maintaining the highest level of fitness 6 to 8 hours each day. Teams 1,3,5 & 7 are based on the West coast while 2, 4, 6 & 8 operate from the East coast. There is a 9th team which is the SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team and operates world wide to support both covert operations and intelligence gathering.

Team 6 specializes in anti-terrorist operations in conjunction with other equally elite operators from other branches and nations. While there were a lot of folks questioning the killing of Bin Laden..... this was never planned or conceived as a snatch and grab mission. From day one it was a kill mission and was successfully executed as such.

Moving on..... the debt ceiling. I'd say put a concrete cap on that sucker so it can't be raised to permit so much as one penny of spending which is not fully funded beforehand. Those on the left have taken to labeling and name calling again. I mean.... if it's all they've got then let them rant as it serves only to point out the vapid nature of their argument. Anyway..... those of us with common sense are now called "Default Deniers" by the left.

News flash, lefties. We take in enough revenue to pay all of our debt obligations without a problem in the world. There is NO, ZERO, NADA possibility of defaulting! NONE!! Of course once that bill has been paid there is damn little for all the other things the big government type want to piss away. THAT is the real problem.... no matter what the left says or how much misdirection they attempt to inject. They want their PLAY MONEY so the population of America is simply supposed to bend over, grab the ankles.... and turn over more of our income. Hopefully the TEA party candidates will all toe the line and refuse to agree to an increase in the debt limit. I mean how much debt is enough? 14 TRILLION dollars is MORE than enough! No one in the history of the world has spent as much money as fast as Obama and the democrats since his election.

Unions. Point blank unions are as practical today as a three masted wooden sailing ship 87 feet long is to one of our modern cruise ship lines. (The wooden ship above is the size of the Santa Marie Columbus sailed upon..... just for the record) Many many years ago when there were far fewer regulations unions did serve an important function. Without them it would have taken far longer to improve working conditions in mines and factories and textile plants closer to the turn of the century. Government regulations has rendered them to the land of Dinosaurs..... but they still keep hanging around.

In 2011 unions exist for two main reasons. #1 is power and #2 is democrat power. #1 is power for the union bosses. These people are leaches with a good platform from which to deliver a well crafted line of lies. Thus they remain dues collecting wealthy elitists. #2 is achieved because #1 was. Now that the union bosses have all that manditory dues money.... they can grease the palms of the people who make their continued existence possible.

Thus it becomes a giant LEGAL money laundering operation. Liberals make sure that so much of the economy is controlled by unions. Public sector unions (teachers for example) are paid by the state.... but only after the people of the state have been taxed enough to make that possible. Part of their pay is then held back (mandatory union dues) and forwarded to the union bosses. the Union bosses then make massive donations and contributions to liberal politicians.... and we're right back where we started. The part of this which is illegal (yet is never prosecuted) is that union dues are NOT legally supposed to be used for political reasons. This is because it's not the member deciding whom to support.... it's a union boss with an agenda. Unions must die and the sooner the better!

Protecting the planet. Please.... can we get over our massive out of control egos for a minute here? Planet earth..... been here for 13.5 billion years.... give or take several hundred million. Human race..... been here for barely the blink of an eye. For comparison..... if you consider the age of the planet as one calender year...... we humans have been around for about the last second and a half of that entire year. We can stroke our massive egos and *think* that we can affect the planet..... but the facts don't quite bare that out.

We can be wiped out by freaking microbes while the earth has survived being hit by objects larger than our moon! The asteroid which hit the earth and closed the book on the dinosaurs........ that rock...... while the leading edge was hitting the water off the Yucatan peninsula..... the trailing edge was still 9 MILES out in space! I just stomped my feet on the ground and sure enough.... Earth is still here and doing fine and dandy.

Why the harping on that? The last day of December 2011 is the last day an asthma sufferer can buy a Primitine mist rescue inhaler. Why? Well.... factions within our wonderful government have decided that these little life savers are a danger to our planet!! Yep! Kazillion ton Asteroid can't destroy the planet but asthma rescue inhalers damn sure can. Amazing! The reason? The insignificant amount of CFC used to propel the life saving mist out of the container. "Why.... CFC's destroy the ozone layer you know!" the wisest of the wise tell us.... and of course we are compelled to believe!

Okay.... research time...... go check and see how many people have died in the last quarter century due to the depletion of the ozone layer. Now go see how many people died in 2010 from complications of asthma. Okay.... I'll help you out. The number of people who have died EVER from the depletion of the ozone layer is........... Zero. That's a total of zero for all of recorded history. Number of people who die from asthma each year?

How about 255,000? Yep.... over 1/4 million people each and every year die from asthma while NONE have died EVER due to ozone depletion and the release of CFC's. Now remember... that's 255,000 dead WITH rescue inhalers widely available and being used! How many more will die as a result of our over zealous and incredibly stupid government attempting to save the planet? The best thing that government can do to help us all..... is to STOP trying to help us all!!!

Foreign policy. My God where the hell to start on this area? Maybe at the beginning when the man child ordered the return of the Winston Churchill bust to England. Talk about keeping those bonds with our strongest ally in good repair! Then there was that classy gift of all those great American movies to the British P.M. ....... all in the wrong format so they cannot be viewed in Europe. (And the left constantly told us how stupid Bush was? HA!) Then where was the even MORE classy gift to the Queen herself..... when good old Berry gives her an IPod fully loaded with all of his best speeches!!! My God.... how thoughtful.

Then little Berry goes all around the world telling anyone who will listen just how rotten America is and how we've been too big for too long...... and we need to be cut down to size. I guess he thought that's why he was elected because it's been his biggest project since taking office. He's sold Israel down the river.... ignored Japan after their disaster..... and driven his own nation into debt at a rate at which has never been seen before. Berry has spent more money in two years..... than ALL the Presidents who preceded him!!!

He has assembled the biggest group of left wing radicals the world has ever seen..... and positioned them all at the highest levels of government. These people are at work daily..... not planning on how to make America greater or how to strengthen our alliances abroad. No. These people plot and plan the destruction of the nation they all hate so very much..... America. They have waited for nearly 100 years to be where they are today.... and they are nearly at the point of achieving their collective dream..... seeing America humbled and on her knees.... at the mercy of the jackals of the world. Until we are less than a 3rd world country this group will not be satisfied nor will they stop working towards our destruction.

I don't know about you but I'm in the process of hardening the old homestead. New security fence goes in in June with steel entry doors to follow. Still looking to add that Zestava AK-47 to the weapons locker and a couple thousand rounds for it as well. I already have a 20X50 scope so that I can more accurately reach out and touch those intent upon doing us harm. We add to the food cache still and are fairly well stocked there. I still plan on sinking a well in back to insure a source of water. Should infrastructure fail there is still a functional septic tank system available as a backup. Limited solar and battery backup electricity will be in place by August. It will be enough to keep a freezer and refrigerator operational with some capacity to spare.

In addition to that we are preserving the history of the nation as it actually happened.... not as the left has managed to re-write it over the past century. When the dust settles we'll need to begin the re-education of the population that survives..... but they will need to be armed with the truth and not liberal lies and distortions. As a wise man said.... "Liberalism is the easiest and more gutless choice a person can make." Keeping a Democratic Republic running straight and true obviously isn't easy. If it were we'd not be in the mess we're in today.

The founding fathers new it wouldn't be easy and all of them said so too. Washington said before the congress..... "Let us give them a standard to which they can repair." If I may translate for those not sure of what the heck that means...... a "Standard" can be just that.... something set and steady with is largely unchanging in nature.... such as the Constitution and Bill of Rights.... or it can be a flag such as that carried when troops march. And in this case the word "repair" does not mean to fix...... rather it means to go to or to rally around. So what he said was "Lets give future generations something solid and permanent which they can rally around in troubled times" That is what they did too.

After leaving the constitutional convention Mr Franklin was approached by a woman who asked. "Sir! What have you given us?" He replied: "A Republic, if you can keep it!" America was a radical departure from all forms of government which had come before. Americans were not to be ruled by Kings and Queens..... Americans were going to govern themselves rather than BE governed. Obviously that's a point the current bunch in Washington have lost sight of.

And Thomas Jefferson commented that this grand experiment could succeed but only so long as we remained a nation of moral and religious people..... for morality and religion were key to maintaining the humanity upon which the nation was built. Here too the left has largely been successful at kicking out those underpinnings. These are all dangerous trends which can and must be reversed if the Republic is going to stand.

During the riots in Wisconsin union bosses were seen on camera screaming "This is what democracy looks like!" The intent was to paint the elected leaders of that state as somehow being less than Democratic in their leadership. Not true! They were, in fact, functioning as the founders envisioned. The union bosses, however, were 100% accurate in their statement and that's the exact reason why America is a democratic republic and NOT a democracy. Because a democracy is nothing more than mob rule where those not in the majority have no voice at all in the running of government. The Founders were so far beyond wise it's still amazing what they gave us..... but as Franklin said...... IF we can keep it.
